赵关克是解放军某纵队独立团一营营长，奉命在大牛山阻击敌人。战斗进行得异常激烈，一个碉堡挡住了我军去路，赵关克组织了几次爆破都没有成功，于是决定自己去炸掉它，并叫警卫员小虎子掩护。罗麦是流动医院的护士长，由于战事需要被派到一线抢救伤员。罗麦见到小虎子负伤要帮他包扎，小虎子却不顾一切去送手榴弹。原来赵关克手榴弹用完了被敌人碉堡火力压住十分危险。罗麦带着手榴弹去救赵关克却被她因为不会开枪挨了骂。战斗胜利了，赵关克却因为负伤住进了流动医院，在医院碰见了罗麦。赵关克想起当时情形气的踹了罗麦一脚却发现原来是个女同志，于是急忙道歉，心中却对她的勇敢暗自喜欢起来。赵关克因为作战勇敢被提拔为团参谋长，罗麦要参加医护人员的培训也被调往团部。在欢迎舞会上，赵关克见到了罗麦喜出望外，拉着罗麦跳个不停，小虎子看出了赵关克的心思就阻止别人找罗麦跳舞，被团长和政委发现，赵关克向团首长表明了自己的态度，团首长表示要征求罗麦的意见。被小虎子花言巧语蒙骗的罗麦违心地说自己对赵关克也有好感。赵关克在罗麦参加培训期间张罗起了婚事，培训回来的罗麦被拉到婚礼现场才恍然大悟，当着团首长的面拒绝了婚事。战事越来越严峻，...
